Community Engagement

I knew the owner, Debony, was someone I wanted to align myself with as she is a proven savvy business person with a salon pumping out a ton of volume. (And not just in the hair department.)

She was looking to unify the messaging of her salon. I worked with her to redesign her website to match the high-end quality of her product, and managed an online presence that brought her clientele together.

My deliverables:

I helped to clearly communicate Debony Salon's mission to its customers.
I created a media calendar and wrote social media content that was posted regularly.
I created, wrote, and sourced all media for consistent marketing communications through regular newsletters and promotions.
I leveraged Debony Salon's accounts with programs like Wedding Wire, The Knot, and Lulu Wed to garner more reviews.
I worked with Debony to help manage a series of events as part of her marketing funnel to bring awareness to her business.
I created digital and print graphics to ensure consistency.
I was the project manager on two website re-designs, and wrote all web content for each.
I wrote all press releases for programming and events at the salon.

Program Overview

An incredibly gratifying part of working with Debony, was her feedback that "I just got her." She didn't have to handhold my work, which meant she had more time to focus on the favorite parts of her business.

One of our biggest successes was the newsletter campaign and gift card sale we ran during the pandemic shut-down. It was financially successful - a testament to Debony's hard work at building a resilient business - but one of the most meaningful aspects of the campaign was how its clients let us know that even though they couldn't come into one of their favorite places, they still felt close to us, through our consistent communication.

Debony Salon is a great example of the power of community. It's important to have fans, but it's even more important to bring them together!

Cultivating a conversation that connects with your audience is what really counts in story-telling.

I help start those conversations.
